About me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and International Relations (DEMS) at the University of Palermo.  The research is conducted within the FIS-2 Starting Grant project RESWA – Dynamics of Conflict and Instability in the West African Regional Security Complex, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), which examines evolving security dynamics and conflict patterns in Mali, Senegal, Guinea and Benin.

I previously worked as a researcher at ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data), working on violent conflict and protests in Western Europe, West Africa, and Southeast Africa. In 2024, I obtained a PhD cum laude at the School of International Studies (SIS) at the University of Trento in Italy.
My research focuses on state security institutions and the related dynamics of (in)security, with particular attention to security governance, knowledge production, and international security assistance. My PhD research investigated norm diffusion processes in international peacekeeping training centers in Italy and Ghana. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as a consultant for UN agencies and NGOs on developmental and humanitarian issues, mostly in the African continent. I am an active member of  UACES, BISA and EISA.
Feel free to contact me for more  information or my full CV.
