ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

I worked for one year as a teaching assistant (2021-2022) at the School of International Studies, at the University of Trento.
  • Provided support for students working on the subject of insecurity in the programs: Master's Degree in International Security Studies (MISS), Master in European and International Studies (MEIS) and International Master in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS)
  • Developing and distributing teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides and syllabus for the master's programs.

NON ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

I have worked as a trainer for UN agencies:

Trainer for the  Core Pre-deployment Training  for Rwandan UN peacekeepers (2022):
2.4:     Women, Peace and Security
2.6:     Conflict Related Sexual Violence
3.4:     Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

Co-trainer for UNICEF Gabon, UNICEF Liberia and UNICEF Morocco on qualitative field research (2019)
I am very passionate about  non-conventional education. In 2015, I volunteered for one year in a street education project in Turin where I taught italian to unaccompanied undocumented minors from Morocco  (here more information).  In 2014, I volunteered teaching italian to Somali female refugees (you can read more here).

PHILOSOPHY

As a scholar in international studies,
I know that the strength of an international environment is its diversity.  My teaching philosophy aims to leverage the diversity of people I engage with to encourage multiple perspectives on the course material.

While each person has its own set of identities with unique perspectives, learning styles and experiences, each person can offer valuable contributions in and beyond the classroom.  My own development has been rooted in the cooperative, interactive and applied engagement from my professors. I attempt to foster similar teaching practices.

Education is not simply about becoming employable, adding a line to the CV or memorizing information. It's about being able to apply the lessons to the world around us, and to allow students to see themselves as citizens in the city they call home. As Montaigne said, it's better to have a "well-made rather than a well-filled head".
I completed the teaching training at the University of Trento (24 CFU, 2021-2022). This program included coursework in  basic anthropological, psycho-pedagogy disciplines and teaching methodologies and technologies.
